Cleveland band Frida and The Mann return with their latest single, “Let’s Get Carried Away.” The alt-rock and indie pop group, made up of Frida Mann, Adam Cramer, Zachary Horstman, and Stefan Johnson, won Best New Artist at the 2024 Cleveland Music Awards, and with this new track, we get a little glimpse into why.

The song is raw and emotional. It’s about being judged and not fitting in, something a lot of people might relate to. It mixes dark energy with a sense of freedom, like letting go even when the world is watching. Lyrics like “There’s nothing I can do to change the way they see me” and “I know you think that I’m insane / and I am” show both pain and power within the journey to finding one’s freedom.

“I know you think that I’m insane / and I am”

Frida’s story gives the song even more weight. She grew up in an orthodox religious community where she wasn’t allowed to sing, especially in front of men. Just three years ago, she took a huge leap, risking everything to follow her dream. Now, she’s singing at the front of one of the hottest new bands in Cleveland’s music scene.

“Let’s Get Carried Away” isn’t just a song, it’s a statement. It’s about owning who you are, no matter who’s watching.
