EVRO Releases Debut LP; Shares “Closer” Single
Electronic pop artist EVRO has released his debut album ‘EVRO1’ along with the music video for the album track “Closer.”
EVRO today has released his debut album EVRO1, which arrives alongside the new single/video “Closer.” The track fuses new wave, techno, grunge, and electronica into a dark and hypnotic meditation on boundaries and self-preservation. Its accompanying video places EVRO and his female counterpart inside a shadow-drenched mansion, where they personify the dual forces of masculine and feminine energy within a fractured psyche.
EVRO explains:
“I just wanted to make a song that goes hard. I was really inspired by Depeche Mode, Berghain techno, TR/ST, and Salem — I feel like this track has claws and teeth and feels like leaving the afters on a cold, rainy winter morning.”
EVRO1 is the debut self-produced album from EVRO, the electronic pop and post-punk project of Matiss Evreoux, a Los Angeles-based musician originally from the Basque Country. Blending emotional pop sensibilities with the raw pulse of post-punk and modern electronic production, and drawing influence from new wave, techno, electroclash, and hyperpop, EVRO1 is a bold, self-contained world of sound that redefines the edges of experimental pop.
Across its anthemic and introspective tracks, EVRO1 explores the process of transcending emotional turmoil, moving through heartbreak, anger, and existential tension toward a renewed sense of peace within chaos. Each song mirrors the emotion or mental state it portrays, creating a cohesive narrative of catharsis and rebirth.
With EVRO1, EVRO stakes his claim as one of electronic pop’s most compelling new voices — an artist unafraid to merge vulnerability with power, and chaos with clarity, in a debut that places him squarely at the forefront of the experimental pop movement.
