Cardboard Sessions and Ernest Packaging invite you to sit front row for “The Church Experience with Cory Henry” in the latest installment of the engineering-meets-art series, where artists perform on instruments made out of cardboard.

Get ready to witness something truly extraordinary as Cory Henry takes on the cardboard Wurlitzer, Nick Clark grooves on the cardboard Fender bass and TaRon Lockett drives the rhythm from the cardboard drum kit. Together, they deliver three original gospel hymns guaranteed to move your soul. “All To You” is out now, with “Thank You Lord” dropping November 25th and “The Lord Is Blessing Me” arriving December 2nd.

Cory Henry hails from Brooklyn and was surrounded by music since he was a toddler. The venue? Church. Earlier this year, Cory took home the GRAMMY for “Best Roots Gospel Album” in a deeply personal project titled Church. He also has taken home the golden gramophone for his collaboration with Rosaliá in 2023, as well as his contribution to Kanye West’s 2021 album Donda. He’s collaborated with Bruce Springsteen, Jon Baptist, Imagine Dragons, and now can add that he’s played a Wurlitzer made from cardboard to his resume.

Cardboard Sessions is a free-form video series that brings musicians together to play instruments built and designed by the creators of Cardboard Chaos and Ernest Packaging, where progressive concept ideas in sports and music are crafted from cardboard and include cardboard Vans sneakers, a cardboard surfboard, a cardboard skateboard and more. A creative exploration of the love of music and the chance to hear something original with no rehearsal, no plan, and no rules.

Artists who have had the opportunity to play the cardboard creations in past sessions include ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, J Mascis, Matt Sorum, Terry Reid, Daru Jones, Marcus King, Robby Krieger, Preservation Hall All-Star Band, LP, Pete Yorn, Meg Myers, Dogstar, and more.
