Amber Pacific continue their 2025 resurgence with the release of a brand-new lyric video for “The Hero or The Villain,” taken from All In, their first full-length album in more than ten years.

Released in February, the record marked a powerful return to the melodic, hook-heavy pop-punk sound that defined the band’s rise in the mid-2000s.

Speaking about the new single, guitarist and vocalist Will Nutter explained that the track channels the influence of Rise Against, pairing urgent instrumentation with a stacked, harmony-driven chorus reminiscent of classic Bad Religion and Sum 41. He added:

“There is a sense of urgency to this song and it truly lends itself to the title All In. The band will continue writing as long as our fans continue to listen.”

All In is available to stream now across digital platforms, arriving twenty years after Amber Pacific’s debut, The Possibility & The Promise, which helped propel the band from MySpace-era favourites to a major force within the pop-punk landscape. Their 2007 follow-up, Truth in Sincerity, reached #64 on the Billboard 200, cementing their position during one of the genre’s most formative periods.

The new record reflects on the band’s journey while embracing their future, weaving themes of nostalgia, personal growth and emotional resilience. Tracks range from the reflective “Young & Reckless” and “Meant To Be” to the anthemic “SOS,” featuring Tony Lovato of Mest, and the poignant closer “Afloat.”

Frontman Matt Young described All In as a “new chapter” for the group, created during sessions in Nashville with producer Sean Rogers. “This one is made for the AP faithful, whilst also welcoming new fans to the world of Amber Pacific.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
