Torgny Amdam Premieres Intimate New Single “Just Cry” Featuring His Daughter April [Premiere]
Norwegian artist Torgny Amdam premieres emotional new single “Just Cry,” featuring daughter April, from forthcoming concept album ‘Air Mail.’
Torgny Amdam has announced his return with a deeply personal new single, “Just Cry,” featuring vocals from his 15-year-old daughter, April. The track, out October 31st via Telemachus Records, serves as the lead single from his forthcoming concept album, Air Mail, due for release in February 2026.
Blending electronica, breakbeat, and cinematic textures, “Just Cry” reflects the Oslo-based artist’s evolving sound while adding a new layer of intimacy through the father–daughter collaboration. The song’s emotive production recalls the atmospheric intensity of Trent Reznor and Daniel Avery, pairing raw vulnerability with experimental sophistication.

On bringing his daughter into the single, Amdam had this to say:
“I overheard my daughter say the following to a friend: ‘I went with Dad to the studio on Career Day and then he made me sing a bunch of cringe stuff into the microphone.’ What can I say? ‘Just Cry’ is the result.”
Amdam explains.
The track also features contributions from Iver Armand (Mall Girl / Tigerstate) on guitar.
The upcoming album Air Mail explores themes of family, memory, and identity, sung in both English and Norwegian. Written and produced entirely by Amdam, the project was inspired by letters he sent home while living as an exchange student in the United States during the 1990s.
On the subject of the album, Amdam had this to say:
“The songs are mainly written from the perspective of 17-year-old me. But it’s also me today! Maybe there’s a kind of double voice on the record—one that both looks back on a life lived, but also still lives and struggles.”
A multidisciplinary artist and former frontman of the acclaimed band Amulet, Amdam has since built a reputation for genre-defying solo work, including Bathroom Stall Confessional (2019). His creative output spans music, visual art, and film composition, with credits on internationally recognized projects such as Thelma (2017) and The Worst Person in the World (2021).
“Just Cry” is out October 31st, 2025 via Telemachus Records. Air Mail follows in February 2026.
