New York City guitarist and producer Jeremy Kolmin just dropped his first solo album, Seeing + Believing. In a world where music is leaning on short singles and catchy choruses in a never ending hunt for virality, Jeremy gives us a 12-track acoustic instrumental record that’s as authentic and heartfelt as it gets.

The collection is simple, beautiful, and yet carries a lot of emotion in the instrumentation. You can feel the connection between Jeremy and his guitar on every song. It’s the kind of album you put on when you want to relax, reflect, or take a dive into yourself.

Kolmin, known for his work with the bands Everest Cale, The Wednesday Nights, and artists like Joe Budden, took his time to make Seeing + Believing just right. It’s the product of over two years of work. He kept things organics, leaving his guitars out, mics ready, and recording whenever the inspiration hit. With help from producer Parks Vallely, he kept the layering to a minimum, only adding light touches to texture and fill the sound.

“The reception so far has blown me away,” Kolmin said. “Over 30,000 streams in just a few weeks for an instrumental album—I couldn’t be happier.”

Critic Ben Dimond summed it up: “It’s like a good broth, sparse, but rich.” Seeing + Believing shows that sometimes less really is more.
