Honestav Kicks Off “No Passport” Tour with a Bang in Vancouver [Photos]
Honestav kicked off their tour in Vancouver at the Commodore Ballroom, supported by Damien Styles, with both putting on quite the show.
Honestav opened his “No Passport Tour” at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom last week.
A concert that was originally scheduled for the smaller Hollywood Theatre, it had to be moved to the Commodore just a few days after it was announced due to high demand.
This was the first time Honestav crossed the border, and the Vancouverites showed him how hospitable this city can be. Touring with him is Wichita native Damien Styles, who put on a show in front of the crowd.
For Damien, it was the first time out of the country as well. He performed songs like “Bad Bitch Energy,” “I Don’t Need Your Co-sign,” the latter dedicated to the chaos and falseness of the music industry and “Winona Forever,” a song dedicated to his wife, who joined him on stage while he performed the song.
Damien is quite the character, and made sure to introduce himself before every song he performed, constantly reminding the crowd how grateful he was to be performing in front of such an amazing crowd and how much he loves his fans.
Honestav hopped on stage 15 minutes ahead of schedule and opened with “Stuck on The Floor” and followed with “Fly Away,” and before “Cool Kids,” a fan threw him a joint, another one passed him a lighter, he lit it up and gave it a few puffs before starting the song.
He told the fans the story of how he almost didn’t make it past the border because the migration officers were not sure he was an artist, because there were no musical instruments on their tour bus.
Mid-set, Av hopped off the stage and jumped over the barricade to perform a song in the middle of the crowd. Local rapper, Merkules, joined Av on stage throughout the set, but did not perform any songs.
He closed his performance, bringing back Damien Styles to perform “I’d Rather Overdose,” and then he performed the song by himself before saying goodbye to the crowd.
