Carpente & Pepper Gomez – “Move It Right Along” [Song Review]
Highlighted by the unifying, alluring voice of Pepper Gomez, “Move It Right Along” conveys listeners into an intoxicating realm.
Carpente, aka Kenny Carpenter, composer, producer, and filmmaker, teams up with Billboard charting artist Pepper Gomez on their new single, “Move It Right Along,” a blend of House music and nu-pop with tints of retro psychedelia.
In the mid-’80s, Gomez was a House diva, turning out contagious, driving songs. Later, she became absorbed in Flamenco music. She is the executive producer of the recently released award-winning documentary, Flamenco: Pasión En Peligro, as well as the founder and CEO of Wake Up Music Group.
Gomez and Carpente have collaborated on a series of singles, including “Love You So Bad,” “Rushing (Saint Tropez),” “Libertad,” and “Dream My Love Dream.”
Talking about working with Carpente, Gomez says, “Always amazing to work with my mad producer, Carpente. He gets me, and my house vibe of wanting to see others moving. It’s as simple as that!”
Gomez’s vocals were recorded by Drew Correa at Entertainment Wanted Studios in Florida, while the track was produced, mixed, and mastered by Carpente.

“Move It Right Along” opens on deep synths atop a thumping beat as Gomez’s dreamy, echoing vocals glide over the swelling melody. Swooshing accents infuse the harmonics with kaleidoscopic surfaces, adding to the hallucinatory feel and mood of the song. Gomez’s nuanced voice gives the lyrics a voluptuous lysergic sensation.
“Groove that body / Do it like you can’t be wrong / Groove that body maybe even sing a song / Groove it, groove it.”
