South Carolina singer-songwriter Alex Rogers just released his new EP, Hand Me Down. The five-song project was recorded in Nashville at Sound Emporium, with every track written and co-produced by Alex himself. The EP showcases Alex’s vocal prowess as he delivers lyrics that dig into family, growth, and finding peace of mind.

The EP opens with “Eggshells”, a song that sets the mood with a southern rock country styling. Alex’s voice carries the song, delivering the lines, “I stand tall on eggshells, praying that these walls don’t fall and I reveal myself.” The title track, “Hand Me Down”, introduced a little bit of a soulful groove while exploring heavy emotions: “I hope this hand me down sadness, stops with me. That I’m the last branch effected in my family tree.”

“I stand tall on eggshells, praying these walls don’t fall and I reveal myself.”

The EP wraps with “Need I Remind”, a heartfelt closer that feels like a reminder of love and connection. “Need I remind you I’m yours . . . Put it all on me, take it out on me, whatever you need.”

For Alex, the record is a snapshot of his life so far. The cover art features him as a toddler with his late grandfather, a symbol of the family ties that run through the songs. Hand Me Down shows Alex as an artist unafraid to be open, honest, and relatable.
