Pianist and composer Noam Lemish is proud to announce the release of his new album, There’s beauty enough in being here, arriving October 24, 2025, on TPR Records. Nominated for a JUNO Award in 2024, Lemish has long been celebrated for his transcultural approach, weaving together jazz idioms, Himalayan folk, Middle Eastern melodies, and contemporary classical influences. This new work deepens that exploration, offering a program inspired by a poem by Fernando Pessoa.

Translated from Portuguese, Pessoa’s verse centers on the lines: “Let’s pay attention only to where we are. There’s enough beauty in being here and not somewhere else.” Lemish channels this ethos into a set of lyrically charged originals, joined by some of Canada’s finest jazz musicians: Sundar Viswanathan (saxophones, bansuri), Andrew Downing (bass), and Nick Fraser (drums).

Highlights include “Song for Rona” and “Song for Milly,” written for his nieces, “Aviv,” a lyrical spring-inspired piece blending European classical harmony and jazz, and “Kadrin Gatshor (Gratitude),” a tribute to the Bhutanese people who influenced him during a year of teaching in the Himalayan kingdom. Other standouts include “It was there all along,” a rediscovered gem from Lemish’s early notebooks, and “The poignancy of Now,” based on a theme by Robert Schumann.

With There’s beauty enough in being here, Lemish reaffirms his place as a visionary Canadian jazz artist whose work builds bridges across cultures and traditions. The result is a recording full of intimacy, depth, and radiant beauty.
