Toto, Christopher Cross, and Men at Work have joined forces for a behemoth of a triple-header summer tour, stopping through Bridgeport, CT’s Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater on July 30th. The three bands are each known for their own smash successes throughout the ’70s and ’80s. Though it seems such a lineup might cater mostly to an older crowd, a recent resurgence of hits like Toto’s “Africa” and Men at Work’s “Who Can It Be Now?” meant there were plenty of younger faces in the crowd too.

Men at Work took the stage first, delivering a bright and energetic performance as tack-sharp as it was entertaining. The Australians’ cool confidence, paired with decades of experience on the road together, makes for a stage presence that is simultaneously professional and bursting with joy.

Next up was Christopher Cross, whose powerful voice has most definitely stood the test of time. The singer-songwriter’s vocal finesse, paired with three-piece harmonies from his backing band, still nails the warm, lush sound that has made songs of his like “Sailing” and “Ride Like the Wind” stay with listeners for a lifetime.

Lastly, Toto closed out the night with powerhouse performance that had concertgoers on their feet from start to finish. The performed all the hits, including “Rosanna,” “Georgy Porgy,” and “Hold The Line,” before closing out with a thunderous singalong of “Africa” featuring both Cross and Men at Work.
