Marius Billgobenson “In PARADISE – Just Another Day” [Song Review]

Smooth jazz guitarist and vocalist Marius Billgobenson releases his new single, “IN PARADISE – Just Another Day,” following on the heels of last year’s “A Little Bit of Honey,” which rose into the Top 3 on Canada’s R&B/Soul charts and was nominated as a finalist at the 2024 World Songwriting Awards.

Produced by GRAMMY winner Paul Brown, “IN PARADISE – Just Another Day” features a who’s who of musicians: Tony Braunagel (drums), David Garfield (keys), Shane Theriot (guitars), and Freddie Washington (bass).

Born in the village of Ingoumina, Republic of Congo, Billgobenson took refuge with the ‘Forest People’ during the Civil War in Congo. Later, he studied at the University of Kent at Canterbury, earning his MRes in Anthropology. Billgobenson is an ardent advocate for social justice and environmental awareness.

On August 15, the music video for “IN PARADISE – Just Another Day” will be unveiled. Directed by Alex Brown, the video reminds listeners to reveal the power of love in each moment, every day, regardless of circumstances.

“In PARADISE – Just Another Day” opens on a low-slung, silky-smooth melody riding a delicious Afro rhythm. The shimmering, swaying motion of the tune, oh-so beguiling, conjures up suggestions of Robert Cray and B.B. King. Billgobenson’s velvety voice superbly complements the mood and flow of the music – warm and soothing.

The sonic palette of Marius Billgobenson escorts a wonderfully laid-back feeling, absorbing listeners into a realm of luxurious surfaces.
