GG Magree Retuns with Single & Video, “Run”

Australian DJ/vocalist/producer GG Magree today released “Run,” a fierce, ripping guitar track with a drop that embodies the terrorizing moment a predator realizes he or she has become the prey – and a woman, fueled by blind rage, is coming for revenge.

“I was in a really dark place in my life when I wrote ‘Run. ’ Hurt that love could make me feel so angry. I wrote it to try and make sense of how someone could worship me like a god and still destroy me. This song is what it sounds like when you crawl through pain, half bleeding, half awake and realize the only way out is to burn everything around you.”

The video for “Run” continues where “Bleed,” released in June, left off – a terror-filled night of revenge with hints of what comes next. Like “Bleed,” on “Run” Magree spreads her DJ and EDM roots from collaborations with artists like Zeds Dead, DJ Snake, and NGHTMRE, into a full-on heavy industrial rock wall of sound.

Says Magree,:

“I feel like I was put on the planet to shatter the shame around female rage and sexual freedom. A voice for the hyper-sexualized, abused and underestimated. For the woman told to ‘calm down’ and the queer kids told to ‘cover up.’ I make art that bleeds, screams, seduces and liberates. I don’t make music to be liked — I make it to be free.”
