Most popular music is just thought of as being “musical projects” inspired by other musicians from the past and present, but not when it comes to From The Land. The worlds of popular music, songwriting, and literature all come colliding in this new project. Spearheaded by Anatoly Pakhalenko, today marks the debut of the music video for “F.K.” This is the follow-up single to “Psalm 2,” the debut single from From The Land, which came out last month. Both songs come from the upcoming debut album Stolen Season pt. I, which will be released on November 21st via 7 Mater and distributed by The Circle Music.

The “F.K.” music video was recently filmed at one of the larger motorcycle clubs in Siberia. Next week, the band will be performing at a significant biker festival, which will bring together clubs from Siberia, Mongolia, and China.

Regarding the new track, the band states:

“‘F.K.’ is open to individual interpretation; its origin remains a mystery. This song is dedicated to all knights of the road, lone riders, nomads, and vagabonds. It is a hymn to endless paths and to those madmen who have chosen such a fate for themselves.”

From The Land is a relatively new venture for Pakhalenko. Both he and some of his bandmates also play in Nytt Land, the popular Nordic folk band from Siberia that features Pakhalenko and his wife, Natalya. From The Land is more of a songwriting project, inspired by Pakhalenko’s love of classical literature. Authors such as H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and David Lynch have all had a significant effect on the direction of the songwriting. There’s a significant, gritty outlaw country vibe to these songs, sounding a lot like stories set to music.

The project was just thought up earlier this year, meant to serve as an alter ego for Pakhalenko. It’s a place for him to explore the depths of his creativity and give him a canvas to experiment with different sounds and subgenres, like dark country and blues. Stolen Season pt. I was recorded from January to May at Nytt Land Studio with Anatoly overseeing each phase of the process.

As a creative outlet, From The Land has come along at a great time for Pakhalenko. It is an opportunity for Pakhalenko to flex his wide and impressive versatility as an artist.
