Chrissy Spratt Drops Debut EP, ‘Maybe Next Time’

Rising pop star Chrissy Spratt has shared her debut EP, Maybe Next Time, via Hi-Way 89 Entertainment, cementing her transformation from a social media star known for viral TikTok covers to a singer-songwriter carving her own lane in the global pop sphere.

The five-song EP features the singles “In Too Deep” and “Call On Me” (with Nonso Amadi and Serøtonin) alongside three new tracks, showcasing Spratt’s flair for combining emotional vulnerability with dancefloor-ready sounds.

Also supporting the drop is a raw, acoustic performance clip of “Dim My Light” featuring producer Tejiri on piano.

Spratt comments:

“Maybe Next Time is my little breakup story, but it’s not just about a relationship ending. It’s also about saying goodbye to different versions of myself along the way, where each song is its own chapter…This project is super personal to me, but I think a lot of people will hear their own story in it, too.”

Spratt tapped an international cast of producers and co-writers to help bring her creative vision to life, including Nigeria’s Tejiri (Tems’ “Higher,” Future and Drake’s “Wait For U”), Canada-based afrobeats star Nonso Amadi (who co-produced “Call On Me” with Andy Crae in addition to appearing as a guest vocalist), Miami-based multi-genre hitmaker Daramola (Dylan Fuentes, Danny Ocean) and Canadian production + songwriting duo Coleman Hell and La+ch.

Breaking down the tracks from the EP, Chrissy Spratt explains:

“‘Call On Me’ is a goodbye to the innocence of falling in love. Then ‘In Too Deep,’ is when I had to face the version of myself that made mistakes. With ‘Like Dis,’ it’s about letting go of the fantasy that love is enough. ‘Hold Me Down’ is probably the hardest chapter — that moment when you finally stop believing that time will heal something that’s toxic. ‘Dim My Light,’ the final track, is where I finally took my power back. I stopped shrinking myself to make someone else comfortable. It’s that moment where you choose yourself — fully.”

For her debut project, Chrissy teamed with Hi-Way 89 Entertainment, the newly-formed music company helmed by Canadian-Nigerian music executives Ikenna Nwagboso and Camillo Doregos. Alongside Chrissy Spratt, Hi-Way 89 Entertainment’s first round of signings includes South Africa’s Chelsea Sloan and Nigeria’s Siraheem.

Following the release of Maybe Next Time, Chrissy will head out on the road with afrobeats star Chike for their joint “Boo of the North” Canadian tour, kicking off August 29th at the National Event Centre in Toronto. See full tour dates and ticket links here.
