Dutch metal band Once Mortals will release their new single “The Abyss” on July 18, available on all major streaming platforms.
Dutch metal band Once Mortals will release their new single “The Abyss” on July 18.
At its core, “The Abyss” is about being pulled down by the darker parts of ourselves — depression, fear, self-doubt — and finding, in that descent, not destruction but a chance at redemption.
The band comments:
“It’s about hitting the bottom and realizing you’re still alive. There’s clarity in that moment. There is peace. No more pain and no regrets!”
The track is built on raw energy and contrast — heavy grooves and intriguing melodies that pull the listener into a shifting landscape.
A visualizer will accompany the release on YouTube, reflecting the internal journey suggested by the song.
“The Abyss” will be available on all major streaming platforms from Friday, July 18. Pre-saves are now open.
