Luke Bryan Parties With Toronto at Budweiser Stage [Photos]

After postponing a couple of shows and taking a break, an unknown illness struck, Luke Bryan resumed his “Country Song Came On” tour in Toronto, Ontario, at Budweiser Stage.

Luke Bryan brought on a couple of country newcomers on tour with him, with Cole Goodwin hitting the stage first. Cole Goodwin released his debut EP in 2023 and has been on fire since then, releasing hit after hit. I thought of his sound as a ’90s country artist, with guitar solos sprinkled, some of the greatest things in country music fused into one to create an exciting setlist.

Next up was Mae Estes. Although she played a surprisingly short set, she made sure to make it worth it and get the crowd warmed up. From the first song, she had the crowd clapping to the beat and cheering along. The cherry on top was ending in a cover of “Bang Bang” by Jessie J that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Mae Estes had the crowd warmed up and passed the torch to the last opener of the night, Vincent Mason, to make sure they were ready for Luke Bryan.

Estes couldn’t have handed the torch to a better person. Mason came to the microphone fitted with a vintage Toronto Maple Leafs jersey that had the crowd loud. Vincent Mason may be new to Nashville with his debut release being in 2022, but he is nothing to scoff at.

The crowd was filling up quickly, and they gladly sang along to many songs. It was clear that the openers had done a great job of getting the place ready for Luke Bryan.

Bryan is easily one of the biggest names in modern country. Ever since his debut release in 2007, he has taken over the hearts of fans and topped the country radio charts for 18 years.

He came out full of energy and kicked it off with “Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye” while playing the guitar. But once he got off that guitar, he made sure it was a real party.

From dancing to interacting with the crowd and everything in between, Bryan is what a performer should be. He could have a crowd of zero people, and there would still be a party, and I have to say, his energy radiated heavily with the crowd, and Toronto was loving it.

On the musical side of things, Luke Bryan’s set is filled with solos, not just guitar solos, though. During “Huntin’, Fishin’ And Lovin’ Every Day,” we had an extended taste of solos from the guitarist, banjo player, keyboardist, while the drummer was keeping things together in the back perfectly. The synergy this group has is no joke, and it was great musicianship from everybody on the stage.

Song 11 was “But I Got A Beer In My Hand,” and Bryan made sure everybody had a beer in their hand. On the side of the stage, a crew member could be seen tossing beers to Bryan as he handed them out to people in the crowd while singing. Only one close call happened, and all the beers made it to the fans.

The set slowed down with “Drink A Beer,” an emotional performance, and it could be seen in his face. A fan in the crowd held a “Drink A Beer For My Brother” sign, and it was clearly acknowledged by Bryan himself. It was a beautiful sing-along that stood out to me.

The setlist continued with slower songs, with Luke Bryan taking over the piano, but that didn’t mean the singing along stopped. With covers of “Rocket Man” by Elton John and “Faithfully” by Journey, it was impossible not to participate.

At the end of the day, it’s still a Luke Bryan show. So the energy was right back up as he hopped off the piano and kicked into “Knockin’ Boots.”

For most shows, artists may have a couple of songs where the crowd doesn’t sing along, but at a Luke Bryan concert, you won’t spot a song that doesn’t have the entire crowd singing their hearts out. Luke Bryan closed the night with hit after hit, ending it off with “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” a song that will have the bars and trains turned into a party tonight.

Bryan’s tour may be titled after his most recent single, but it truly is a night of his greatest hits and feels like a celebration of everything he’s accomplished in his career. If you’re a country fan, you’re going to know the setlist front to back.
