Joe Sib Brings Acclaimed One-Man Show ‘California Calling’ to London

Comedian, punk rocker, and storyteller Joe Sib is set to bring his acclaimed one-man show California Calling to the UK for the first time, with a special performance at London’s Seven Dials Playhouse on July 25th.

California Calling is described as a heartfelt, humorous, and high-energy journey through Sib’s formative years growing up in suburban California during the 1980s. Weaving together themes of adolescence, rebellion, and the power of punk rock, the show explores how music shaped his life and propelled him toward an eclectic career in comedy and the music industry.

Described as as “a cross between theatre, touching memoir and a loogie in the eye,” the show combines nostalgia with raw emotion and laugh-out-loud moments. Known for his dynamic stage presence and sharp storytelling, Sib’s comedy draws from a rich personal history that includes fronting punk bands WAX and 22 Jacks, co-founding Sideonedummy Records, and touring as the opening act for Metallica alongside Jim Breuer. In 2023, both Dry Bar and 800 Pound Gorilla released stand-up specials from Sib, solidifying his reputation as a unique voice in modern comedy.

Following the London debut, Sib will head to the Edinburgh Fringe for a series of performances. California Calling promises a compelling look into one man’s journey from punk clubs to comedy stages—and the life lessons learned along the way.
