Joe Dilillo just dropped his first release of the year, “When It Comes To Us”—a smooth song with a classic warm 70s-esque vibe. It’s got a laid back feel, honest vocal character, and lyrics about the beautiful yet difficult reality of love.

The song dives into how our past shapes our relationships and reminds us that what we say and how we treat each other is what really matters. “All that we are is what we’re made of / And maybe that’s the hard thing when it comes to love”
This lyric suggests that love is difficult because people bring their own pasts, and limitations into it. Love is about accepting the unchangeable parts of who we are.

“From ashes to dust is all that really matters when it comes to us”

The track was co-written with Joe’s friend Bill DeMain and features a killer lineup of musicians: Cactus Moser (Wynonna Judd) on drums, Tim Smith (Jellyfish, Sheryl Crow) on bass and vocals, and Nicholas J. Niespodziani (Yacht Rock Revue) adding harmonies. It was mixed by six-time Grammy winner Ryan Freeland.

Joe grew up near Chicago, started playing guitar at 7, and never looked back. He’s worn many hats—musician, songwriter, studio owner—and in recent years, he’s focused on writing and recording his own music again. “When It Comes To Us” is Joe’s fourth single and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
