Vilde Tuv Premieres Her Latest Single “Solace in the Sun”
Experimental electronic pop artist and singer-songwriter Vilde Tuv premieres her new single “Solace in the Sun” via Poesy Records.

Vilde Tuv wants to take you places sonically that you perhaps have never been to before. You get a taste of that adventurism on her brand new single “Solace in the Sun,” released via Poesy Records. Electronic and experimental pop at its finest, the song is the second release from her upcoming solo album. The song is both bold and spacious with a very “large sound” to it.
But within “Solace in the Sun” is a spirit of the singer-songwriter that Vilde Tuv grew up as. There’s a real sincerity to it and not just intense for the sake of being intense. Celestial and meditative, the song is like a direct conversation with the soul. It’s illustrative of some of Tuv’s goals as a musician. In the studio and as an instrumentalist, she enjoys being as experimental as possible. But she also wants her music to resonate with people in a traditional sense, the way a folk artist can establish a direct connection with their audience.
Commenting on the song, Vilde Tuv states:
“I listened to a lot of dance music of the ’90s with female vocals, profound and existential lyrics, doubled with intense emotional music. I was intrigued by this poetry, which really didn’t hold a high status, but still was waterproof in how they held the greatness of the themes they were singing about. The song mixes song structure of a folk song but with sounds and themes remembering another time and place.”
Another significant aspect of “Solace in the Sun” is that it is Tuv’s first song where she is singing in English. Her previous material all features her singing in her native tongue of Norwegian. It was important to her to try something new and present herself in a different manner. She has been previously referred to as “Norway’s finest one-woman orchestra.” It’s a reputation she has earned thanks to the epic and ethereal soundscapes she is able to come up with. She doesn’t just make sounds and then sing over it. It’s a very precise fusion of the two, as they, in a sense, meld into one.
The past year or so has been a triumph for Tuv. She has performed at some of the biggest avant-garde music festivals across Scandinavia, including Borealis, Insomnia, Strøm, and Intonal. She also found time to compose the score to The Ugly Stepsister, a Norwegian feminist horror film that has received enormous critical acclaim. In terms of her own critical acclaim, Tuv’s 2021 album, Melting Songs, won “Electronic Album of the Year” at Norway’s Spellemann Awards. As a performer, she has been lauded for her innovative one-woman show. With her natural ambition and enormous musical talents, Vilde Tuv will be an artist who will never do the same thing twice.
