No Joy Returns with Genre-Blending Fifth Album ‘Bugland’
Canadian shoegazers No Joy release new album ‘Bugland’ on August 8, announcing UK dates for later in the year.
Canadian shoegaze project No Joy will release their fifth album, Bugland, on August 8th 2025.
Spearheaded solely by Jasamine White-Gluz, this marks the first new material from No Joy in five years. The album will be released via Sonic Cathedral in the UK and EU, and Hand Drawn Dracula for the rest of the world.
Teaming up with acclaimed experimental producer Fire-Toolz (Angel Marcloid), Bugland fuses elements of late-’80s fashion culture with rustic introspection, inspired by White-Gluz’s move to rural Quebec. That change of environment played a key role in both the album’s development and the extended break since 2020’s Motherhood.
Speaking about the length of time between albums, White-Gluz explains:
“The wait wasn’t intentional. Rural living made me tune out the noise of the music biz and focus more inwards, writing and taking my damn time. It felt limitless. We clicked musically, and I had the freedom to be creative like I would on my own album.”
To support the release, No Joy will play a string of intimate UK dates in October.
Tour Dates:
10/15 – Manchester – YES Basement
10/17 – London – Moth Club
10/18 – Chelmsford – Hot Box
10/19 – Coventry – Just Dropped In
10/20 – Glasgow – Glad Cafe
10/21 – Leeds – Headrow House
