Steam Summer Sale 2025

It’s that time of year when gamers around the world create and add to their massive backlog with the help of Steam sales, and this year, the summer sale is exceptional. I’ve already personally fallen for the sales, but here is a list of some games I think you should buy based on the sale price.

$15 and under (Prices in CAD)

If you’re on a budget or looking for cheap games to add to your collection. The Steam Summer Sale has you covered with everything from indie titles to action RPGs to fill your library.

Starting with Stardew Valley. This is a game that you can sink thousands of hours into and not get bored of it. A game all about farming, fishing, friendship and fighting bosses. This game is perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing experience that will last a long time!

Moving away from the relaxing experience, Witcher 3 is currently going for $12 or $14 for the ultimate edition. This game is timeless, with a Metacritic score of 92 and a very positive review base. The Witcher 3 is seen as one of the best action RPGs of all time and if you’re sick of unfinished modern action RPGs, take a trip back to 2015 and play this fantastic game that holds up today.

There are plenty of great games under $15. From timeless classics like Skyrim and all the Halo games to modern games like Doom Eternal and Risk of Rain 2, there’s a little bit of everything in this category!

$30 and under (Prices in CAD)

The $30 price point is where we start to get into some of the highest rated games on Metacritic that will make you go through an experience while gaming that you’ve been desiring forever.

My first pick is Cyberpunk 2077. Although this game had a rough launch in 2020, the developers have had an insane comeback making a mini futuristic GTA feeling game. I purchased this last year during the winter sale and had an amazing time playing it, for fans of GTA or any open world games Cyberpunk is a must have.

Speaking of GTA, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently on sale for $20 down from $80. This game holds one of the highest ratings on Metacritic at a 97. This game is considered a masterpiece and has one of the best stories of all time. With a How Long To Beat estimate of 50 hours, Red Dead Redemption 2 will turn your $20 into days, maybe weeks of fun just to beat the main story!

Like all categories, many great games still remain. It would take me hours to list off all of the great games. Schedule 1 for $20 is a fantastic drug dealer simulator with a silly design that will keep you hooked for hours, Death Stranding is currently going for $26, even Resident Evil 4 is going for under $30!

$50 and under (Prices in CAD)

This is where we reach the modern AAA titles, which some people find the greatest games of all time.

Firstly, Elden Ring is currently going for $48. This is an souls action RPG that made waves when it was released. Elden Ring blew up on the market due to being seen as an easier and modern Dark Souls game, and since its release gamers have been praising the game with many going as far as calling it the best game ever. If you’re looking for an intense action RPG to sink hours into, Elden Ring may just be the game for you.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is hands down one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. I was a big fan of the combat and the boss fights took some adapting to, but weren’t impossible like some games. I was obsessed with this game and at the $40 pricepoint, both graphically and storywise, this is one of the best games you can purchase at the price.

This price point is harder than the others with many great games falling under this category. Games like Warhammer Space Marine 2 and Horizon Forbidden West make it hard to choose just a couple.

These are just my choices for games that gamers can sink too many hours into based on my preferences. The great thing about Steam is the number of games that fit every audience. With most of the store being on sale, I advise all gamers to check it out before the sale ends!
