Fresh from their explosive secret set at this past weekend’s Download Festival, UK metal band Malevolence has released the latest single from their new album, Where Only the Truth Is Spoken, in the form of “So Help Me God.

The video for “So Help Me God” follows the removal of the band’s previous single “Salt the Wound” from Nuclear Blast’s YouTube channel after legal threats from the National Trust. An unofficial version has since been re-uploaded to YouTube by an anonymous user.

“So Help Me God” was filmed at the Abbeydale Picture House, reflecting the song’s raw tone, featuring an aggressive and stripped-down live performance.

The band recently performed a secret set at Download Festival on Sunday, 15 June, appearing on the Avalanche Stage. During the performance, guitarist Konan Hall unveiled a one-of-a-kind guitar designed in collaboration with Jackson® Guitars and Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft®. The custom instrument was inspired by Hall’s in-game character, a dwarf paladin named Thraiin, and features bespoke artwork and thematic design elements from the Warcraft universe.
