Lydia Night, formerly of The Regrettes, has announced her debut solo album Parody of Pleasure, is set for release on August 8th via Warner Records.

Written and recorded with New York-based producer Alexis Kesselman (Suki Waterhouse, Joji), the 13-track album spans a spectrum of emotions, blending subversive humor, vulnerability, and pop euphoria. Parody of Pleasure features previously released singles “Pity Party” and “The Hearse,” as well as the newly unveiled “Gutter,” a track inspired by summer crushes and Gorillaz.

The music video for “Gutter,” co-directed by Night and Ramisha Sattar (Chappell Roan), sees Night explores themes of desire, self-doubt, love, and self-discovery.

Parody of Pleasure is available to pre-order now in digital and physical formats from here.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
