Following the buzz of his recent release “Soul Exchange,” rising Atlanta-based artist Isaiah Stone turns up the heat with “Possessed,” a dance-inducing new single out now via Infinity & Records. The track arrives with a hypnotic groove, edgy guitar riffs, and Stone’s smooth, magnetic vocals laced with MJ-style adlibs that are equal parts swagger and seduction.
Stone shares:
“The song lives in the tension between lust and love. In a way, I unknowingly painted a picture of limerence, possession without resolution. Hence the title.”
Where “Soul Exchange” was described by BET as “groovy” and by Global Grind as “a gripping new single that merges funk-laced grooves and raw emotion,” “Possessed” picks up the emotional thread and carries it even further. The result is a pulsing, nocturnal track that invites movement while holding space for introspection, a hallmark of Stone’s unique genre-fluid sound.
“Possessed” follows a strong run of singles, including “No One Cares,” “Leavin!” and “Get Down,” all showcasing Stone’s deep musicality and evolving artistry. Raised in a cult where secular music was forbidden, Stone found early creative refuge in church, playing drums at age two and later teaching himself guitar, piano, and production. After leaving that world at age 12, music became his foundation, shaped by Prince, Sly and the Family Stone, Frank Ocean, and Kendrick Lamar. Now 25, Stone is carving a lane all his own. His music blends rock, funk, and soul with self-aware storytelling and a DIY ethos that reflects his roots. With “Possessed,” he adds another vibrant chapter to his growing catalogue.
