Iggy Pop Hosts a Night of Raucous Punk Rock at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse [Photos]
Punk rock icon Iggy Pop arrived in Manchester with the energy of a twenty-year-old and a set of raucous punk classics that echoed throughout O2 Victoria Warehouse.
There are few bigger icons in the world of punk rock than Iggy Pop. In the UK, for a few festivals, including a recent appearance at Bearded Theory Festival, the punk rock legend arrived in Manchester for a night of punk rock classics at the O2 Victoria Warehouse, one of only a handful of his own headline shows.
And what a setlist. Reeling off classic after classic, the set saw Iggy draw on a wealth of material from across his career. Early on, “Raw Power,” “The Passenger,” and the equally iconic “Lust For Life” made an appearance, while the double whammy of “I Wanna Be Your Dog” and “Search and Destroy” made an appearance midway through the set.
This suitably rowdy set was lapped up by this equally rowdy crowd, all overseen by a man who tears around the stage with the energy of a twenty-year-old. Plundering his own material as well as a wealth of material from The Stooges, these songs may be twenty, thirty, even forty years old but here in Manchester in 2025, they still sound as raw, exciting and relevant as they did when a young Iggy Pop smashed his way into the punk rock scene.
Our photographer, Maryleen Photography, headed down to the gig in Manchester, and you can check out her gallery, along with Iggy’s setlist, here:
