Blunt Blade Releases New Single “Sprawling”
Blunt Blade is back with their first release since 2023, “Sprawling.” And it’s the first single leading up to their full LP Forgiveness that’s coming up at the end of June. The new song is moody, packed with distorted guitars, trippy synths, and raw vocals with a sound that mixes progressive rock and electronic indie.
The song feels big—both in sound and in meaning. It digs into the feeling of holding everything in until it all starts to fall apart. Pride, ego, and old habits try to cover the pain, but it doesn’t work for long. Lyrics like “Practice hides the smell” and “The legs will give way” show someone trying to keep it together while slowly losing control.
Blunt Blade grew up in Southeast Minnesota soaking up every style of music he could find—rock, indie, jazz, prog, even disco. You can hear that tasteful blend in his sound. It’s weird in the best way: dark, melodic, and a little bit wild.
“Sprawling” feels like the calm before the breakdown. It’s emotional, honest, and rough around the edges, in all the right ways. If you’re into songs that hit both socially and emotionally, this one’s worth a spin.
Listen to the new single “Sprawling” by Blunt Blade, out now—and be on the look out for the LP Forgiveness coming later this summer.
