RxHx Premieres Debut Synth-Punk Single “Star FKD”

For RxHx, today is more than just the debut of the new single “Star FKD.” It’s the debut of the new solo project from West Coast musician Bruce Wilson. Throughout his distinguished career, Wilson has travelled to almost every corner of the music industry. RxHx might be his most inventive musical adventure yet, an experimental electronic project that’s all him.

“Star FKD” combines dissociative synth-punk, post-existential pop, and classic dark wave music. It’s both haunting and atmospheric, a bold musical statement from a bold artist. As an artist, Wilson wears his heart on his sleeve. His songs are raw, poetic, and at times confessional. At times, it makes him uncomfortable laying it all on the line like he does. But to Wilson, that’s the whole point of being an artist.

Commenting on his new single and RxHx, Wilson states:

“The promise of spring remains unheard beneath the roar of static from the rusted pink noise generators bolted to the roof with corroded pieces of angle iron. The pigeons swarm around them in broken jagged designs. I watch them when I’m able to leave this room. I search for a pattern. A thread that binds our tiny, precious souls. But I’m blind and my god is on fire in the sky. Still, RxHx believes in you. RxHx puts its trust in you.”

For any old school fan of rock n’ roll, Wilson’s name probably rings a familiar bell. A mainstay within the Vancouver music scene for decades, he began to make a name for himself as part of the grunge punk band Tankhog in the late 1990s. Although he resides in Western Canada now, Wilson began to find his way as a musician in New York and Detroit. While battling drug problems for many years, he fronted various bands, from Tallahassee, Florida, to Vancouver. After a period of recovery in Western Massachusetts, Wilson decided to head back to Vancouver, where he fully indulged in songwriting. His writing began as a novel, but it morphed into the self-titled debut album of Wilson’s band Sunday Morning.

Throughout his career, Wilson has proven that he is not intimidated or turned off by trying new things. RxHx might be his most musically adventurous project in a lengthy career that has featured loads of musical adventure.
