British electronic band Morcheeba will release their eleventh studio album, Escape the Chaos, this Friday through 100% Records. The release marks the band’s 30th anniversary and follows their 2021 album Blackest Blue.

The lead single “We Live and Die” is out now, showcasing the core collaboration between vocalist Skye Edwards and multi-instrumentalist and producer Ross Godfrey. The single will also be released as a limited edition 7-inch vinyl for Record Store Day on April 12, 2025. This marks the first time Morcheeba has released a track on the 7-inch format.

Speaking about the single, Edwards said the song is a reflection on her three decades in Morcheeba and the ways in which her personal and professional life have become intertwined: “In a way, it’s a homage to the thirty years of being in Morcheeba, which is 60% of my existence.

Escape the Chaos was recorded in part during sessions in Dublin, where the band was joined by family members who also perform with them live. Edwards’ son Jaega contributed drums, and her husband Steve Gordon played bass on several tracks.

The band plans to announce tour dates in support of Escape the Chaos in the coming months and you can pre-order the album here.
