Malevolence Unveil Cinematic Single “Salt The Wound” Ahead of Album Release

Sheffield heavyweights Malevolence have dropped their new single, “Salt The Wound,” lifted from their eagerly awaited album Where Only The Truth Is Spoken, due for release on June 20th, 2025, via MLVLTD in collaboration with Nuclear Blast Records.

Whereas recent offerings “Trenches” and “If It’s All The Same To You” delivered unrelenting ferocity, “Salt The Wound” takes a more emotional turn.

The video was directed and filmed in and around the band’s native Sheffield, and takes in the ruins of a 900-year-old abbey to the the incredible Derbyshire hills resulting in a stunning, cinematic visual.

Speaking on the track, frontman Alex Taylor shared,

“‘Salt The Wound’ is the product of us making a conscious decision to bridge the two faces of Malevolence. On one hand we have the heavy aggressive side, and on the other we have the slower melodic songs, so we wanted a song that could combine the two.”
