JUNO-nominated jazz drummer Curtis Nowosad is set to release I Am Doing My Best, his fourth full-length album and first to feature all-original compositions, on June 6, 2025, via La Reserve Records.

Co-produced by longtime collaborator and two-time JUNO winner Joey Landreth, the album features standout performances from acclaimed artists Joanna Majoko (vocals) and Andrew Renfroe (guitar). This emotionally resonant collection is Nowosad’s most personal project to date, exploring themes of self-compassion, fatherhood, healing, and finding purpose through adversity.

Nowosad comments:

“‘I Am Doing My Best’ is more than just a title—it’s a mantra and a boundary. It’s a reminder that our flaws don’t define us, and that we’re all navigating the challenges of life in our own way. This album is a reflection of that journey.”

Recorded in Winnipeg in May 2024, the album is a culmination of a decade-long journey through therapy, self-exploration, and growth. With lyrical contributions from Majoko and Landreth, Nowosad channels deeply personal experiences—from parenting his young son to navigating life with ADHD—into a rich and eclectic sonic tapestry that blends contemporary jazz with soul, blues, Afrobeat, and more.
