Singer-songwriter and Broadway alumna Ava Della Pietra reveals a more intimate side of her artistry with the release of “Moon Over Capri,” a deeply personal ballad that transports her late grandfather’s spirit back to the homeland he always dreamed of revisiting. Released today, the song offers a heartfelt tribute to his Italian roots and enduring love for his family, set against a backdrop of gentle instrumentation and Ava’s signature emotive vocals.

Ava shares:

“‘Moon Over Capri’ is about my grandpa, who passed away earlier this year. He was born in Italy, and he was a kind, selfless man who made many sacrifices for the people he loved. As travelling became harder, especially later in life, he never stopped dreaming of going back to Italy one last time. This song is my way of taking him there.”

Following a string of stylistically diverse releases—including the brooding theatrical pop of “Marionette” and the rebellious holiday anthem “Reindeer Rebellion”—“Moon Over Capri” further illustrates Ava’s rare ability to move fluidly across genres without losing her voice. Rather than following a single formula, Ava continues to explore new creative territory with each release, setting herself apart as a multi-dimensional artist unafraid to take risks. Her recent momentum includes national TV performances on KTLA’s “Music Fest Fridays” and the Hollywood Christmas Parade, as well as international recognition: the “Marionette” music video was awarded “Best North America Music Video” and “Best Pop Music Video” at the International Music Video Awards.

Ava’s ability to weave personal experience into her music was recently highlighted during her interview with WBUR’s Radio Boston, where she discussed how moving from Long Island to Cambridge for college sparked a wave of new creative inspiration. Now enrolled in the prestigious Harvard University – Berklee College of Music Joint Studies Program, Ava continues to balance her burgeoning music career with studies in biology and music theory, fueling her songwriting with a richer understanding of both the world and herself.

In just a few short years, Ava has built an impressive foundation: over 26 million global streams, 1.3 million followers on social media, and numerous national and international accolades, including wins in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, the UK Songwriting Contest, and top honours from the Songwriters Guild of America. With more than 150 original songs to her name, she continues to forge a path defined by authenticity, heart, and fearless creative growth.
