Andres Cepeda Gifts Vancouver a Night of Nostalgia and Hits [Photos]
Andres Cepeda landed his “Nuestra Vida En Canciones Tour” at The Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver for a night of Latin pop.
Andres Cepeda landed his “Nuestra Vida En Canciones Tour” at The Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver. Continuing a tour that started last year, in this leg of the tour, the Colombian superstar is visiting five cities in Canada, with Vancouver being the first stop. Cepeda is rolling solo in this tour, so don’t expect an opening act. However, based on the number of songs he is performing, it is understandable, as he went for almost 30 songs.
As soon as Cepeda hopped on the stage, the crowd started screaming. Andres opened his performance with “EL Cafe.” After that, he expressed how happy he was to be back in Canada performing in front of his Latin fans and then continued with “Enfermedad de Ti” and “El Mensaje.”
Mid-set, the band left, and Cepeda sat at a piano and performed a song he wrote to his first love, his natal city, “Bogota,” and did a short version of “Voy a Extrañarte.”
At the end of his set, he moved away from the smooth tunes and brought the more vibrant and tropical songs, performing a reggae version of “Mejor Que a Ti Me Va,” “Un Ratito,” a cover of the legendary Peruvian group Los Hijos del Sol, “Cariñito,” and closed the set with “Una Flor.”
Those 20 songs were not enough for the fans, who, over a standing ovation, requested one more song. Andres Cepeda returned to the stage but not just gave one song, he performed a medley of “El Carpintero de Amor,” “Se Morir,” and “Amor Gitano,” and closed with his cover of “Piel Canela.”
He wanted to leave, but the crowd didn’t let him, and started shouting “Calgary can wait,” as he mentioned they needed to leave for their next concert in Calgary, so he delivered a second encore. He was going to start with “Desesperado” and stopped after just a few lines to please one of the fans who had been asking for “El Guitarro” since he started his show. He closed with “Desesperado” and a cover of “Mi Generacion” by Colombia en Monterrey.
