The Wandering Hearts – “Our House” [Song Review]

Full of soft, warm colors and gorgeous harmonies, British folk/Americana outfit The Wandering Hearts releases their interpretation of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s “Our House,” a track from their forthcoming new album, Déjà vu (We Have All Been Here Before), slated to drop on June 20.

According to The Wandering Hearts, “‘Our House’ felt like the perfect introduction since it’s a song many will recognize. Rerecording a classic song is a big risk, but we’re confident people will love what we’ve done. We had an unforgettable time recording at Taurus Rising Studios in Joshua Tree and can’t wait for everyone to hear it! Taking on ‘Our House’ by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young—a huge inspiration to us—has been surreal, and we truly hope we’ve done it justice.”

The Wandering Hearts will be performing the album in full in New York City at The Loft at The City Winery on Thursday, May 29th.

Opening on gentle, folk guitars topped by soft, silky-hued vocals, the band infuse “Our House” with ethereal tones burnished with delicious, creamy textures. After the intro, layered harmonies imbue the lyrics with sumptuous elegance, giving the tune beautiful, tranquil surfaces.
