Stargazy Pie Premiere Their Spicy “Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme” Music Video
Tacoma, Washington quartet Stargazy Pie debuts the music video for their spicy single “Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme,” off the new record ‘Pacific Northwestitis.’
With their latest music video for “Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme,” Stargazy Pie is burning bright. It’s a new anthem from the Tacoma, Washington quartet from their latest record, Pacific Northwestitis. It rocks hard with plenty of pop appeal as the band powers through a performance of the song in front of a massive outdoor blaze.
As you can tell with “Doritos Locs Tacos Supreme,” there is no specific sound that the band is married to. Whether it’s hard rock or power pop, they just want to rock out and facilitate a good time. They play with a lot of power, and the twin guitar and bass plan of attack is truly impressive. There’s plenty of shredding, but plenty of radio-friendly pop appeal as well.
Commenting on the song, lead singer and rhythm guitarist Jack Stoker says:
“‘Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme’ was born from the feeling of fighting to do the impossible and the music video shows how sometimes you just need to let go and burn it all down.”
Stargazy Pie has come a long way since their formation in 2019. They’ve become a known and sought-after commodity in their Pacific Northwest region, winning plenty of local awards and battles of the band. Their debut record, Butterfly Hand Grenade, was released in 2021. It introduced audiences to their energetic shred pop, which was further refined on Pacific Northwestitis.
The album features lots of pop-punk hooks and heavy guitar work. The songs as a whole are about life’s many circumstances, especially the ones you wish you could change. Relationships fail, friends move away, you end up feeling like you’re stuck in a place you’re not sure you want to be… The album challenges the notion of discontent. If we were able to grab what we wanted, would it really make us feel better? Or is the only pathway to growth through learning, through the good and the bad?
There’s plenty to impress with Stargazy Pie’s unique approach to power pop. Whether you grew up on ’90s alternative or 2020s indie pop, you’ll find lots to like here.
