Red Velvet Supreme Defy Trends on New Single “Hey Girl” [Premiere]
New York City garage rockers Red Velvet Supreme stick to their guns with the premiere of their hard and heavy new single “Hey Girl.”

With today’s weird and unsettled music industry, it’s hard to define anymore what constitutes conventional, but we can tell you Red Velvet Supreme ain’t it. You can get a load of the New York City band today with the premiere of their new single “Hey Girl.” While not necessarily a sound you have never heard, the band goes to great lengths to stick to their guns.
They’re not interested in being part of a scene or sounding like your favourite band. You can hear that lack of restriction in “Hey Girl,” a hard, heavy, and fast guitar-driven sound, featuring a mix of garage rock sound and punk rock attitude. The song has a ’70s charm to it, but not in any dated kind of way. It’s a song meant to fire you up, reminiscent of all the great eras of hard rock music.
Commenting on the song, lead singer and guitarist Red Velvet states:
“‘Hey Girl’ is the first single since our debut and is a journey filled with energy, attitude, virtuosity, twists and turns, that will take any listener on a blissful audio experience. Unlike most records being released today, ‘Hey Girl’ is meant to push the boundaries on what tricks one can do with studio wizardry in audio recording. The track is the ultimate rejection of the cookie-cutter recording and mixing process today. Tracked live and self-produced, you hear Red Velvet Supreme’s live prowess. Not only that, this is drummer Doc B’s first introduction on record; drummers beware.”
Rounding out the power trio that is Red Velvet Supreme is bassist Mickmoozy and the aforementioned drummer Doc B. With such a no-nonsense sound, the band has succeeded in building an authentic connection with their fan base. The three of them formed in early 2022 and have become a mainstay in and around New York City. They’ve played all of the main spots, including Arlene’s Grocery, Bowery Electric, Brooklyn Music Kitchen, Pete’s Candy Store, and many more. They released their debut album Just A Little Taste For Ya in 2023, which introduced their high-energy, bottom-line-focused sound. They currently have a new album in the works, with recording of it intermixed with many shows.
As a band, Red Velvet Supreme records music for all the right reasons. They just want to do their own thing, and if you’re down with them, they’d be more than happy to have you.
