UK hardcore legends Desolated have revealed all of the details about their long-awaited new album. Finding Peace, the band’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2019’s A New Realm Of Misery EP, will be released on 30th May via MLVLTD and is set to violently kick the doors down into a new era of Desolated.
To celebrate the announcement, the band has shared a brand-new single, “Glass Ceiling,” a devastating groove-laden gem rooted in anger and discontent. The intensifying pressure of the world we live in and its ever-growing societal difficulties lie at the core of the track, its vitriolic bile fuelling a relentless aggression that sees Desolated at their most dangerous.
Speaking on the new single, the band shares:
“The cost of living is set higher than ever, yet the price of life itself is cheap as monstrosities unfold worldwide and war mongers prevail. “Glass Ceiling” embodies the issue of everyone being constantly force-fed nonsense and turned against one another through all that we digest, while being priced out of a reasonable standard of living. The cold hearted system that barely rewards hard work; it’s full weight pressed down upon your neck as you gasp for air but you really you can see through what’s going on above.”
After over five years of long-distance writing, squeezed in between demanding full time work commitments, a million breakdowns in the form of the Whatsapp-hummed voice note, thirty-plus Toby Carvery’s and countless hurdles including the monumental task of switching lead vocalist, Desolated are proud to announce the completion of their long awaited new full length album.
Featuring guest spots from Ninebar (London, UK), Whispers (Bangkok, Thailand), and D Bloc (Detroit, MI), Finding Peace has more of a heavy hardcore twist than Desolated’s previous releases and is the band’s best work to date. With Grammy-nominated producer Will Putney handling the mix and master, this is what gentrified Desolated in 2025 sounds like. Spoiler alert; it’s hard as f*ck.
Shortly after the release of Finding Peace, the band will be performing two very special shows to celebrate its arrival. Taking place at intimate venues in Sheffield and London exactly a week after the album drops, the sets will see Desolated unleash tracks from the record for the first time in the only way they know how: violently.
