The Phoenix Concert Theatre will host “Bowie Revisited for Heroes,” a special event raising funds and awareness for Wounded Warriors Canada.
The Phoenix Concert Theatre will host “Bowie Revisited for Heroes,” a special event raising funds and awareness for Wounded Warriors Canada. This national mental health service provider supports first responders, including firefighters, paramedics, search and rescue personnel, and members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Heroes aims to shine a light on the modern-day heroes who face trauma in their daily work and require support to recover from post-traumatic injuries. The statistics paint a sobering picture: nearly half of Canadian public safety personnel — 44.5 percent — screen positive for one or more mental health disorders. Behind every uniform is a human being carrying the weight of trauma most of us cannot imagine.
Wounded Warriors Canada stands as a beacon of hope, offering specialized mental health programs to those who serve. From firefighters who charge into burning buildings to police officers protecting our communities and paramedics racing against time to save lives, these brave individuals receive vital support through the organization’s innovative trauma therapy programs—with 95 percent of participants reporting they feel supported in their recovery journey.
Heroes is a pay-what-you-can event, with proceeds directly benefiting Wounded Warriors Canada’s programs and services. Tickets are free via ticketweb.ca with a recommended donation of 20 dollars per ticket, which can be made online or at the door.
Heroes features Bowie Revisited, the Ultimate Musical Celebration of David Bowie, a renowned tribute band from Montreal known for their flawless live performances of beloved tracks from across David Bowie’s legendary discography.
