Rebelmatic Share Single “Cornbread and Collard Greens”
Funk group Rebelmatic has released their new single “Cornbread and Collard Greens” from their new album ‘Black Hole Eats The Tornado.’

Rebelmatic, the genre-blurring collective known for their energetic fusion of hardcore punk, funk, and hip-hop, has once again proven their creative prowess with the release of their highly anticipated album Black Hole Eats The Tornado. The album showcases the band’s ability to combine visceral soundscapes with deep, introspective explorations of both personal and universal themes. Their single “Cornbread and Collard Greens” is out now on all streaming platforms.
The title, Black Hole Eats The Tornado, was inspired by something truly special—a phrase coined by vocalist Creature’s son, Hannibal, when he was just six years old. His innocent yet profoundly imaginative take on the cosmos perfectly encapsulates the chaotic and transformative nature of the album. Like the imagery of a black hole devouring the force of a tornado, Rebelmatic’s music brings together seemingly opposing forces—chaos and calm, destruction and creation—into a dynamic whole.
With Black Hole Eats The Tornado, Rebelmatic has created an album that is both timeless and urgent. It invites listeners to reflect, resist, and embrace the chaos, all while navigating a journey through different musical landscapes. The result is a record that feels like an experience, offering catharsis, reflection, and a relentless push toward change.
Self-described as “James Brown in a Mosh Pit,” Rebelmatic’s next album, Blackhole Eats the Tornado, comes out on April 11th on Say-10 Records.
Adam Gecking of Say-10 Records shares:
“We are beyond excited about this record and think that Rebelmatic should be a household name.”
Firmly rooted in New York’s punk and hardcore ancestry, Rebelmatic has self-sworn hip-hop purists, moshing alongside skate punks. They’ve got the respect of the legion of hardcore kids stashed away in the wilds of Brooklyn and Long Island. They can cast a wide net with successful results because their personal brand of Brooklyn rock has more NY hard-knock authenticity than most.
Rebelmatic performed with the likes of Pure Hell, Slick Rick, Death and many more. Rebelmatic has played festivals including Afro-Punk, Punk Island, and are slated for more this year. HR of Bad Brains, Angelo Moore of Fishbone, and DMC of Run-DMC are proud fans of Rebelmatic.
