Midnight Horses Releases New Single “Alone Again”

Midnight Horses, a Minneapolis musical project made up of Michael Borell, Dave Mehling, and Emily Haavik, just released their first track of 2025, “Alone Again.” It’s a laid back song with a folk-esque, indie-pop feel that hits you right in the heart with its soft acoustic guitar work and smooth vocals—perfect for kicking back in a relaxed, thoughtful state.
The song starts with a simple guitar part that the band built into something bigger. “It began with that little melody,” they say. “From there we built upon that simple emotion and as the track came to life it evolved greatly–becoming something we never imagined.” You can hear that growth—starting quiet, then morphing upwards with vocal harmonies and a large atmospheric sound. It’s a song about losing someone but finding a way to feel okay again.
“. . . it may help others sigh a breath of relief.”
“Alone Again” mixes bright and dark sensibilities, like happy spots and shadowy corners. The trio’s into dreams and neon lights, and you feel that here. It’s a tune that lets you breathe and let stuff go. “I’m very excited to share this with the world in hopes that it may help others sigh a breath of relief.” the band says. With its digestible sound and authentic emotions, this track is for anyone needing a break.
Listen to the new “Alone Again” by Midnight Horses, out now.
