Marshall Oakman – “See You Again” [Song Review]
Brimming with larger-than-life hopeful colors, “See You Again” discloses a charming dose of good vibes and the appeal of excellent pop-rock.

Celebrated singer-songwriter Marshall Oakman releases his brand-new single, “See You Again,” following on the heels of singles like “At The Boiling Point,” “She’s No Doll,” “She’s A Woman,” and “When Life’s Cold.”
Set apart by delicious flavors of pop-rock, leavened with beautiful, layered harmonies reminiscent of the Beatles, and lush, captivating melodies, Oakman merges timeless leitmotifs with contemporary tangs into innovative, alluring music.
On “See You Again,” Oakman joins together with a who’s who list of renowned New York-based musicians to create his unique sound: Kasim Sulton (Joan Jett) on bass, Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel Band) on drums, and Paul Pesco (Madonna) on guitar.
Oakman’s musical career began when he was six years old when he discovered a piano, whose sound mesmerized him. It wasn’t too long before he started writing songs full of pop and rock savors, forging his own distinctive sound.
Oakman has performed at The Cabana in Long Beach, Reel in East Rockaway, Mulcahy’s in Wantagh, Jones Beach Bandshell, Kasey’s Rooftop in Rockville Centre, and Montauk Music Festival, as well as venues throughout the East Coast, including the New York metropolitan area, upstate New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.
“See You Again” rolls out on a bright and breezy melody riding a low-slung, mid-tempo rhythm. Oakman’s evocative vocals imbue the lyrics with buoyant nostalgia, revealing feelings of anticipation as he looks ahead to meeting someone once again. The rippling flow of an expectant piano gives the melody an enticing mood and sparkling dimension.
Brimming with larger-than-life hopeful colors, “See You Again” discloses a charming dose of good vibes, reminding listeners of the appeal of excellent pop-rock.
