Kyle Davis Unveils Stunning Music Video for “Jericho”
Kyle Davis anticipates the release of a new album with a new cinematic music video for the title track, “Jericho.”
Kyle Davis is making waves with his latest single, “Jericho,” a track that offers a glimpse into his forthcoming album of the same name. The powerful song has already captured the attention of fans, and now the music video takes that experience even further. Directed by Wyatt Kassin of WSK Productions, the video brings the song to life with cinematic storytelling and abstract visuals that perfectly complement the track’s emotional depth.
Filmed in Nashville with additional footage sent from Richmond, the video explores themes of love, loss, and self-discovery, central to both the song and the album as a whole. The collaboration between Kyle and Wyatt focuses on enhancing the song’s emotional core, using symbolic imagery to reflect the song’s deeper meanings. For Kyle, the creative process is a highlight. He enjoys the moments spent discussing ideas with Wyatt, particularly when they dream up visuals that enhance the song’s mood. A clown putting on his nose or a ballerina shedding a tear are just a couple of examples of the unexpected beauty that arises during these discussions.
The influence of Kyle’s love for old movies is also evident in the video. He reminisces about the iconic figures of Hollywood, like Paul Newman, and imagines the actor strolling through a scene in a pea coat, cigarette in hand. “I love old movies. There’s something timeless about the way they capture emotion,” he says, recalling a scene from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid that left a lasting impression. This cinematic inspiration threads through both the music and the video, blending the two mediums seamlessly.
“Jericho” isn’t just a visual treat; the song itself offers a poignant reflection on the search for meaning in a world often driven by materialism. The track is produced by Don Dixon, known for his work with R.E.M. and The Smithereens, and features an array of musicians, including Rob Ladd on drums and Peter Holsapple on mandolin. The song was recorded across multiple locations, including Mitch Easter’s studio in Winston-Salem and Kyle’s own studio in Prince George, Virginia, giving it a rich, layered sound that mirrors its lyrical depth.

This track is only a preview of what’s to come from Davis’s seventh studio album, Jericho. For Kyle, this album represents a refined perspective on life, love, and loss. His decades-long career, marked by critical praise from major outlets like Rolling Stone and Billboard, has evolved with each release. Jericho is poised to be one of his most introspective and impactful works to date, giving fans an emotional journey that transcends music alone.
As anticipation builds for the full album, the music video for “Jericho” sets the stage beautifully. It invites listeners not only to experience the song but to connect with its deeper emotional currents. With the release of the album on the horizon, Kyle Davis is ready to take fans on a journey that’s as visually stunning as it is musically profound.
