Orlando, Florida-based singer-songwriter EJ, aka Eric Jafet, releases the first single from his forthcoming EP, The Storm, the second of a triptych. The first EP, The Fantasy, was released near the end of 2024.

The third of the triad will be EJ’s debut long player, The Aftermath, which will include songs from The Fantasy and The Storm, along with new tracks.

The initial inspiration for “Another Day In Paradise” occurred when EJ was stuck in traffic on the way to work – the disparity between palm trees and balmy weather and the socioeconomic realities confronting Gen Z.

EJ explains, “It’s a brutally honest anthem for a generation raised by the internet, grappling with disillusionment, loneliness, and the crushing realities of modern life. Beneath its sarcastic title lies a commentary on the emotional burnout of young people in 2025, contrasted with the pressure to present a picture-perfect, ‘everything’s fine’ version of ourselves to the world.

A multi-instrumentalist, EJ writes and produces all his music. At the age of 14, he played with Guns N’ RosesDizzy Reed at Whisky A Go Go. In 2023, he released his debut EP, Destroy, followed by a headlining tour throughout Florida. He has shared the stage with Quiet Riot, Makeout, sace6, and Lil Lotus.

Opening on emerging, gritty guitars, “Another Day In Paradise” rolls into an irresistible pop-rock melody brimming with oomph. Dipped in delicious timbres of disillusionment, EJ’s voice oozes the perfect amount of irony, especially in the chorus, where his evocative falsetto captures a bittersweet mood of mockery.

An earworm of a song, “Another Day In Paradise,” establishes EJ as one of the foremost purveyors of catchy, contemporary music.
