“Debt Heads” Podcast Turns Debt Upside Down with Storytelling & Humour
“Debt Heads,” a new podcast from hosts Jamie Feldman and Rachel Webster has launched, a sharp, satirical look at the state of personal debt.

“Debt Heads,” a new, independent, narrative podcast taking a sharp, satirical look at the state of personal debt and financial troubles facing a generation of young Americans, couldn’t be more timely.
Launching Tuesday, March 18th, on all platforms, just in time for tax season, this original podcast from co-hosts Jamie Feldman and Rachel Webster lends a fresh new voice to the economic discourse: two creatives who have navigated the shark-infested waters of living in New York City on a freelancer’s budget, mined the murky depths of consumer debt, and lived to tell the tale.

Jamie Feldman, a freelance journalist, found notoriety on TikTok during the pandemic, gaining nearly 50K followers glued to her funny, confessional posts about her mounting credit card debt. Jamie’s wit and candour earned appearances on national news outlets, including NPR’s Your Money, All Things Considered, NBC Nightly News, Fortune, Business Insider, and more. Rachel Webster, a film and television editor/producer, started her 20+ career journey in investigative journalism and documentary at PBS’ Now with Bill Moyers, and continues to produce commercials, documentaries and feature films, including 2022 independent film festival standout Adventures In Success. The two Brooklynites met in 2005 – when Webster hired Feldman as a dual-role copywriter and babysitter – and their 20 years of camaraderie, chemistry and creative solidarity shine through in “Debt Heads’” irreverent but whip-smart tone. In a sea of hot takes and chat podcasts, Debt Heads is a storytelling journey.
Jamie and Rachel explain:
“Our instinct to confess is kinda like a compulsion. Debt and basically everything about money makes even the most confident-seeming people squirm. We all seem to think that everyone else just knows personal finance by osmosis from just living in the world. But we don’t know. And just living, being alive, is expensive. We’re getting priced out of living in America. ‘Debt Heads’ is us baring our insecurities and stepping into our truth: Debt sucks. But that’s just the beginning of the story.”
Launching just in time for tax season, this narrative podcast uncovers the deeper structures that have created an economy that feels unsafe for most people. With a heartfelt but humorous voice, “Debt Heads” examines some of the most basic reasons why 80 percent of Americans are saddled with consumer debt and features a five-part narrative arc that will dispel myths that financial responsibility should fall solely on the shoulders of the individual.
“Debt Heads” is the only financial podcast geared toward Millennials and Gen Z, and its message is simple: It’s time to stop faking it til you make it, it’s time to look beyond tired financial tips and tricks and acknowledge that the American dream has become increasingly elusive over the past four decades even when we follow the rules.
Bi-weekly episodes will continue, beginning on Tax Day – April 15th, 2025.
