This Summit Fever Release “Hooks” Single via Majestic Mountain Records
This Summit Fever has released their brand new single “Hooks” as well as an accompanying music video via Majestic Mountain Records.
From humble beginnings as a COVID lockdown project for guitarist/vocalist Andy Blackburn, This Summit Fever has transcended from a solo bedroom home recording project to appearances at major music festival appearances, such as Bloodstock, within the space of a couple of years. With Jim McSorley providing a monstrous backbone to Andy’s blues-fuzz riffs, together they have bloomed into an explosive duo.
Fast forward again and This Summit Fever has a record deal with Majestic Mountain Records, who will release their self-titled debut album in April 2025. Majestic Mountain Records is a label that This Summit Fever is proud to be a part of.
Andy Blackburn comments:
“I always wanted us to be on a label that I was also a fan of. Marco and his team release some of the best underground music in my opinion. It’s music that I buy and love, so it’s an honour to be able to release our album through Majestic Mountain Records too.”
The first lead track from the forthcoming This Summit Fever self-titled album, “Hooks,” has a blues-inspired main riff and a signature pummelling McSorley drum groove. The song itself is about not having the tools to defend oneself when under verbal attack. Lines like “You’re relapsing into silence, Speak now into the silence” and “Rip out the hooks of discontent” leave no doubt that Andy Blackburn had a bitter taste in his mouth when writing this song.
The duo filmed a live session of multiple songs in the summer of 2024 at Foel Studios in Wales. Ecstatic with the production, they chose the live studio version of Hooks to be the official music video.
Blackburn states:
“In the early days, we were always nervous about playing live and I think that showed. As time has gone on though, we have played all over the UK, sometimes to massive audiences which has improved our confidence and skill set. We wanted to capture a great sounding live recording, to show folks what we sound like as a live band and filming it was the icing on the cake.”
Tour Dates:
03/30 – Leicester – Riffz N Beerz Fest
04/11 – Dive – Wolverhampton
04/12 – Bournemouth – Dorset Doomsday
04/16 – Manchester – Night And Day
05/18 – London – Desert Fest
06/20 – London – The Devonshire Arms (The Dev, Camden)
