Paper Lady Releasing Debut Full-Length Album ‘Idle Fate’ on May 9th
Boston-based indie dream-rock outfit Paper Lady officially announces the release of its highly-anticipated debut LP, ‘Idle Fate,’ set to drop on May 9.

Boston-based indie dream-rock outfit Paper Lady officially announces the release of its highly-anticipated debut LP, Idle Fate, set to drop on May 9.
The eight-track album, whose name was drawn from a lyric in the closing track, “Amaranth” – “Fortified in grace, the forest, and your idle fate” – is entirely self-written, recorded and mixed and captures the band’s unique blend of ethereal rock, noisy freak folk and driving dream pop to deliver an otherworldly experience for fans.
Thematically, Idle Fate explores grief, love, and existential wonder, with nature as its central muse.
Lead vocalist and primary lyricist Alli Raina shares:
“This album is a portal into the magic and emotion of the natural world. The wind, trees and sun become characters in our lives, holding us, dancing with us, and crying with us.”
Idle Fate was conceived in a remote cabin in upstate New York and honed in the band’s shared home in Brighton, MA. The result is a sonic landscape, both intimate and expansive, an invitation to step into Paper Lady’s enchanted realm.
The first single, “Silt,” is set for release on February 7, followed by “Static” on March 14 and “Joe Modern” on April 11, culminating in the album’s May 9th release.
