Woodland Creatures Release New Single “Wild Mountain Flower”

Pittsburgh-based Americana band Woodland Creatures has released a new single, “Wild Mountain Flower,” and it’s a feel-good anthem about finding strength in tough times. With its upbeat sensibility, the song blends modern folk with 70s rock influences, creating a sound that is both fresh and nostalgic.
Inspired by Pennsylvania’s state flower, the Mountain Laurel, the song uses the flower as a symbol of resilience. The lyrics remind us that, even when life gets rough, we have the strength to keep going. Lead singer Gail Hofbauer’s vocal work carries this message beautifully, supported by the rich harmonies of Hannah McGovern and Liz Thompson. The chorus shines, with their harmonies giving it a strong, emotional lift.
“It reminds us that we have the strength to bloom in adversity, and that resilience is in our very nature.”
In their words, “‘Wild Mountain Flower’ is a beautiful anthem for our stressful and turbulent times. It reminds us that we have the strength to bloom in adversity, and that resilience is in our very nature.”
“Wild Mountain Flower” leans more folk than some of the band’s previous songs, but it still carries the feel-good, vintage vibe of bands like Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles. The band has called it their “unofficial anthem,” capturing their shared strength and connection both musically and personally.
The single was recorded at Jake Hanner’s studio and mastered by Pete Lyman, who’s worked with major artists like Chris Stapleton and Brandi Carlile. “Wild Mountain Flower” is a reminder that we can all bloom even in the hardest of times.
