Seizure Releases Single “Tears of a Wizard” ft. Fabio Lione
Los Angeles symphonic thrash metal band Seizure has released their new single, “Tears of a Wizard,” featuring Fabio Lione.

Seizure’s debut single from their upcoming EP, “Tears of a Wizard (feat. Fabio Lione),” is out now. This electrifying release features none other than Fabio Lione, renowned for his work with symphonic metal titans Rhapsody and Angra. The collaboration serves as a bold introduction to Seizure’s ability to merge orchestral grandeur with the raw, relentless power of thrash metal, offering a fresh and dynamic take on both genres.
“Tears of a Wizard” weaves together classical arrangements and thundering guitar riffs, elevated by Lione’s soaring, emotive vocals. Frontman Joey Love taps rich fantasy themes to place the listener inside the inner turmoil of a wizard haunted by time, isolation, and a mind ablaze with knowledge of the immaterial realm:
“Tears flow down my white beard/ I cry the tears of a wizard/ Alone in my tower I wait/ With a heart full of sadness and hate.”
Beyond the spellbinding story, the track showcases Seizure’s precision and creativity, marrying intricate solos with powerful rhythms that dual-wield emotion and intensity. It’s a song that resonates deeply, appealing to fans of Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, and Slayer alike. With its layered composition and cinematic scope, “Tears of a Wizard” is a portal into the band’s vision, blending storytelling with their innovative musical approach.
This release marks an exciting milestone for Seizure, a band pushing boundaries by exploring the crossroads of symphonic and thrash metal. With their fearless creativity and undeniable energy, Seizure is a rising force in the metal scene, and “Tears of a Wizard” is just the beginning of their journey to redefine what these genres can achieve.
Seizure is a Los Angeles-based symphonic thrash metal band founded by composer, guitarist, and lead vocalist Joey Love. Known for fusing orchestral grandeur with relentless thrash intensity, their music delves into fantasy themes inspired by ’80s role-playing games, wizards, and dragons while also exploring darker, emotionally resonant narratives.
With a lineup that includes Austyn Coffill (lead guitar), Kaine Livesay (bass), and Nate Wood (drums), the band has collaborated with producer Adair Daufembach (of Megadeth, Angra). Their upcoming EP showcases heightened orchestral arrangements and personal, introspective storytelling.
