Nona Invie Premieres Their Congenial Single “Love Is Like That”
Singer-songwriter Nona Invie has premiered their new single “Love Is Like That” from their new album ‘Self-Soothing’ (Boiled Records).

With Nona Invie, you can feel it all. Take a listen and you will feel every note, every syllable, every inunciation. Take their brand new single, “Love Is Like That,” for example. They’ll have you hanging on every word. This is their latest single and the third to be released from the Minneapolis singer-songwriter’s new album Self-Soothing.
There’s something intensely personal and emotional about this song. Invie’s voice really carries the song, which only adds to the anticipation and the drama. There is an ambiance to “Love Is Like That” that very easily reels you in, right off the bat. There’s no waiting for the hook or the chorus, Invie will have you at the first note.
Commenting on the song and what it means to them, Invie states:
“This song is a meditation on a certain kind of unconditional love one can express in a friendship. Taking on all the joy but also the pain of another.”
Invie is gearing up for the release of Self-Soothing which will come on February 28th via Boiled Records. Although it is predominantly a self-effort, they did rely on the contributions of some very talented instrumentalists like Cole Pulice on saxophone, Greg Fox on cymbals, Cole Davis on upright bass, and producer Andrew Broder.
Invie has an eclectic and varied musical past, having worked with singer-songwriter Angel Olsen, slowcore group LOW, folk Americana band Dark Dark Dark, and electronic trio RONiiA. “Love Is Like That” is a significant step towards Invie coming into their own as a solo artist. As real as can be, Self-Soothing is an immersive experience defined by catharsis, sonic healing, and spiritual cleansing.
