Little Falls Trophy Premieres Their ‘Rehashed’ Single “Thursday’s Friday”
Little Falls Trophy premiere their new single “Thursday’s Friday” from their new ‘Rehashed’ album (Rock Ridge Music).

Modern life has changed a lot over the last five years and Little Falls Trophy’s new single “Thursday’s Friday” is an acknowledgement of that change. Thanks to the pandemic, social media, the repetitive nature of life, and probably a host of other factors, it feels like weekdays have started to blend into weekends. While the days of the week used to seem so distinct from each other, it all just seems to bleed together now.
“Thursday’s Friday” is a more specific commentary centred around how social media has created a situation where we are always comparing our experiences to what we perceive of others’ experiences. Perceiving that our experiences don’t match up, we end up complaining about how we hate these social platforms. The truth is, these platforms are all misleading us, but it’s not so easy to just tune them out.
Elaborating on the song, Little Falls Trophy mastermind Doug Albregts states:
“For me, ‘Thursday’s Friday’ captures our new modern life, where the lines between weekdays and weekends blur in the age of social media. The song explores the pressure and envy that come from constantly seeing the curated, real-time experiences of others—both friends and strangers alike. As we scroll through our feeds, we’re confronted with an endless stream of highs and lows, both celebratory and heartbreaking, but all of them seem to be happening to someone else.
“The song’s chorus highlights the feeling of being caught in the comparison game, as we struggle with the desire to live up to the ‘ideal’ moments we see online while grappling with our own frustrations and dissatisfaction. The repetition of ‘we’re the same’ serves as a reminder that, despite the curated appearances, everyone is caught in the same cycle of self-doubt and external validation. For me, the songwriter, it makes me appreciate the simpler sides of life, like interpersonal communication!”
While it’s just being released now, the truth is that “Thursday’s Friday” is a song that has existed for a while now. This is Albregts’ own reinterpretation of it. Elaborating on this, he offers:
“Originally released on the Dutch Motel album, this song has garnered a nice quantity of downloads and streams. The new version offers a fresh interpretation of the original. I chose to re-record the song because I felt it transformed beautifully into a laid-back, stripped-down, acoustic version, evoking a warm, campfire feel. Despite the song’s exploration of the challenges of social media and the sense of falling short in life—topics that can feel inherently heavy—the uplifting melody and arrangement leave the listener with a sense of positivity. I like the dichotomy and contrast the song offers in this version and the idea of doing it again or repurposed for the new album called Rehashed.”
On its significance to him personally, he adds:
“This is a therapeutic song, one that allows me to vocalize the internal tension between celebrating the good in life and confronting the harsh truths of the digital age. I’ve worked in the technology field for years and feel a sense of responsibility for how it’s improved the way in which we live, work, and play, but also for the new set of challenges that have resulted for generations to come.”
We previously brought you the premiere of Little Falls Trophy’s “Project 6636” music video at the end of 2023. Since then, Albregts has been hard at work on the follow-up, the new album Rehashed. He’s nearing completion on the album, with a tentative release date set for June via Rock Ridge Music again. Rehashed will take the sound and musical style found on Dutch Motel another step further. If you haven’t already guessed, the album will be a collection of reinterpretations of songs from Dutch Motel. It was originally intended to be a bridge to the third Little Falls Trophy full-length. But as he got more into the process, it became a more involved recording project. It will now feature some acoustic flare, some lush guitar tones, a new B-side track, and some cover songs that are special to Albregts.
He feels like he encountered a songwriting breakthrough during the pandemic. He began taking inspiration from all of the angst and uncertainty that has befallen the world. Working off of those cues, they created new creative opportunities for him. Albregts has been all too happy to ride the wave of those opportunities with lots to work off of in building the next chapter for Little Falls Trophy.
